Hello World!

10 min read
Life and a Meme

Work eats me alive, but next saturday is my favorite ball again and we will attend it with two wonderful friends and unbelievably pretty new dresses, so it will be TEH AWSOMENESS! Apparently I'm looking forward to it very much, but beforehand... 3 days of work and one day of school. But I'll live through it... I'll live.

At the moment I don't feel very well physically, but I try to get totally better and totally fit again at the moment. Christmas was superspecialawsome but it also made me fat and I'm SOOOOOO depressive .... daaaamn I'm not allowed to live >___> I need to lose at least 10 pounds.

We decided to attend the LBM in Leipzig this year, which is cool. And we will wear out Togainu no Chi costumes there and one (totally random) new costume (from a totally NOT NEW anime we recently watched) A lot of you may know this show, but I don't want to tell yet what it will be. BUT IT WILL BE SO MUCH FUN (and a really cute couple :) )

Our Togainu no Chi group will be totally awsome btw, because we'll have Kiriwar and Keisuke and it will rock :D (And I will get mobbed.... I KNOW it >__>' )

Okey so... after reading all of my bleh, have a meme I saw at NanjoKoji's and just wanted to fill out. In an elitist way of course, because I'm such an elitist cosplayer >D

_________________________________________

-What was your first cosplay?
Sailor Moon (for a carnival's party XD I was around 11 years old or something XD)

-Did someone get you into cosplay? Or on your own?
Just me.

-What is your favourite cosplay?
That's difficult, I'd say it's a draw between Akira, Masaomi and Ruki :D I love those kind of characters and I had the most fun with them, but I love ALL of my cosplays, because I always give my best and only do characters I simply love.

-Which is your least favourite?
It's Cloud, because I didn't feel very good wearing it. But it was cool... for the moment.

-At conventions, do people compliment you on your cosplays?
Sure thing. But it depends on the size of the fandom how often it happens :)

-How many have you done?
I'm too lazy to count now, but it should be somewhere around 60.

-What are the top 5 on your list of "Want to Cosplay"?
My secret chracter I planned :D; Kyle (from our own series); Masaomi (in a special outfit); Maya (from occult academy); Another version of my secret character :D

-What female cosplay do you want to do most?
It's all about Maya and Haruhi. (I only like bossy females :D )

-What male cosplay do you want to do most?
Kyle! Because he's such a cutie and I love him.

-Your most memorable experience? What makes it so memorable?
Oh there were a lot of memorable experiences, especially back when I cosplayed Kingdom Hearts. Everything was memorable those times. But one thing was really cool when I wore my orange jumpsuit Garnet for the first time, and I was really unsure about my body. But people complimented me (at the toilets when I was waiting for Zidane lol) and it was very nice and cute.

-Your most recent cosplay?
Akira (Togainu no Chi)

-What do you prefer? Cosplaying in a group or on your own?
I prefer cosplaying in a pair with my girlfriend. It always feels the best and is the most fun. Having a nice group additionally is also quite nice, but sometimes really stressful. Having groups of 4 is mostly the best number.
....................................................................................

1. What was your primary reason for wanting to cosplay.
I'm a roleplayer and I wanted to live the characters. Plus I like sewing.

2. When cosplaying what do you feel is most important? (ex. Detail , character portrayal, ect.)
For me the most important about the person is the face. It has to fit the character and the mimic. Second is the feeling the person gives and if it fits the character. Third is a detailed and nicely sewn costume made with love. Oh and the wig/hair. If the wig/hair is shit everything is.

3. Do you have someone who inspires you to cosplay? If so who?
I'm inspired by myself, my girlfriend, roleplaying and the characters ^.-

4. Everyone has a pet peeve when it comes to cosplay. What is yours?
I hate superficial photographers and cosplayers who think that a nice body is everything about a cosplay.

5. Do you prefer to buy or make your cosplays?
I prefer to make them.

6. When deciding on how you want your cosplay to look , what goes through your mind. (ex. Does the fabric/material have to look like the picture)
Would I fit the character? Would it be fun to pose and act as him? How would the character look in 3D and what would his clothes and hair look like in real life? What type of guy/girl would it be in real life and can I impersonate him well?

7. What type of characters do you enjoy cosplaying.
When it comes to male it's the side or main character type who is full of problems and has a dark past and is kind of aggressive and/our cool. And he mostly is 'emo' but would do everything for his love/friends. Also mostly he's stylish and dresses in a fashionable or nice way. And he has wild hair and blue or darkbrown eyes.
When it comes to females, it's the tsundere type. It's always... the tsundere type. (Sometimes it's the 'nice but sad girl from the neighbourhood' but only rarely)

8. How do you choose the characters you cosplay as?
I watch a show and I am amazed by them or inspired.

9. Are there any cosplays that you wish you could pull off?
I wish I could pull off Death the Kid, but with a more feminine figure it just looks like shit ^^"

10. Do you have any cosplays that you will never do. Why?
Lightning from FF13. I like her and my face looks a bit similar to hers, but it's just not my type of outfit and I don't like it that so many people already did her ^^"

11. Do you believe that a person has to have certain qualities to pull off a cosplay? (ex. Facial structure ....ect.)
Yes, they should be able to LIVE the character.

12. What are some of your dream cosplays?
At the moment I don't have any. But I'd like to do some superspecialawsome Disney cosplay somewhen >D

13. Why do you want to be these characters?
If there'd be any, then because I like them and I can identify with them. I see them and I think "That's soooooo me".

14. What is your primary reason for cosplaying?
I love roleplaying and I love creating things. It's exciting to see photos of myself from so many different characters and I'm always curious about which looks I can pull off well.

15. Do you have any tips to give people about cosplaying?
Don't be delusional, you don't have to look like a model to do a good cosplay, but you have to put your heart in it and the clothing style should fit you and your body type. If it's not "you" in one way or another, you're just a person in costume, like a clown in a circus.

Thanks for your interest! See ya next time!

Togainu no Chi Flash

Do you know one thing which is typical for autumn? Every year around September/October there comes a new flash. Yep and this time, as you very well can see it's Togainu no Chi. We're really late you may think, but just with the start of the anime we looked deeper into the series and it's really cool.

I needed a new boys-love series which is not tasteless or has a completely weird animation style and there TnC is the right choice. I really like the character's design and the little plot they have going on and that it's not just about... fucking only. (Although a little bit more couldn't be bad, but we have doujinshi for that :D ) At the moment I most favorite the manga (which is not the one from [ZERO] but the other one).

To make things short, I'm in love with little Akira and his blue eyes... which remind me of my own eyes... and yeah, I seriously think about cosplaying as him. I like the jacket he's wearing and it has a good pattern for hiding my more female body structure. Also I've never really cosplayed as a silver-haired character and I want a piece of the fun too. And I don't even need contacts! It couldn't get better... except for the fact that my beautiful and sadistic girlfriend kayleighloire would be cosplaying as...

yeah my dear friends.

GUESS.

(Oh I know it's bloody obvious :D )

We think about scheduling the costumes for around November and for Shootings only for the time being, as we won't visit any convention until next year's Animuc which is in .-.. April or May I believe? Something like that.

Have nice fun and look forward to moar Natsuno and Toru and ... hopefully some Togainu no Chi. Hrrrr... TnC....
XDDD

And I need to get my journal css fixed... it looks horrible in IE 8 >__<'

How to (not) behave online

It's one of these days where I'm home earlier from vocational school and get a little bit of time to think about stuff happening around me and maybe just write my thoughts about it. So... recently, not really recently to be honest, I came across the fact, that people in online communities seem to forget how to socially adjust to the world and how to interact with people around them. Nobody seems to know what morals or etiquette is and it makes me rage. I mean, stating one's opinion is a really good thing, many people these days don't even HAVE an own opinion. However, there should be limits. Just because you don't have to see the person's face doesn't mean you're allowed to be unnecessarily rude.

Let's be honest, the Internet is full of shit, hell the whole world can be a big pile of shit, ugly people and idiots and I won't say that it is not true.

But only an antisocial asshole without any common sense or education would just step up to a completely foreign person and tell them "Hey, you are so ugly you should't be wearing that outfit." or "Hey, you're so fat it would get days to get your video uploaded on youtube." or "Your face looks like a horse." etc etc.. bleh.

It does not have to be something that extreme, but even while being in a community of sorts with people we DO know (maybe not that good or personally) we're not going around telling people not-really-nice things, just because we think that stating our opinion, whatever-it-is,
is such a good idea. Some people may think it's a kind of criticism and that makes it ok, but it's NOT.

Example is a cosplay video I uploaded on youtube and from time to time there are comments along the lines of "that person is too fat to cosplay as xyz". Best is "I don't want to be rude, but..." at the beginning of such sentences. You fucking ARE rude and it IS an offense towards the person you're critisizing, because a normal person is not an artwork or a 'thing' that can be updated and bettered out.

If you THINK that people are too ugly or too fat for your own view of life, then talk about it with your friends or family or something, but don't make everything fucking public. Before writing a comment, and that's not just about the outer appearance of someone only, which has nothing to do with critisizing a person's WORK, then think about it first.

Would you tell it to the person's face in real life?

If not, you should STHU and GTFO.

Sorry for bad language, it just sounds along the lines of the point I want to get through. Don't feel addressed personally, but just take a few seconds before writing something in the internet and think about it. Are you unnecessarily rude? Is your opinion so important that it's right to hurt other people's feelings? What gives you the right to decide that? I'm just saying.

Private life and TwilightFire

At the moment I'm really busy and working a lot, but the company I work for is really cool and all of the people are so nice and funny. And I learn a lot about Microsoft and Webdevelopement tools and stuff.

Anyway, I don't have much time. From the money I got for ma birthday I ordered a new notebook because my old one is really... old and not fast enough for the stuff I'm doing anymore (even though it's still a nice one and I won't give it away :) ) It hasn't arrived yet but it should tomorrow or on friday and I am sooo looking forward to it ^_____^

Also upcoming saturday there is a little Oktoberfest in my town and we sewed ourselves a sexy dirndl. Damn, I never had a dirndl but I love the look of it. They're so chic and fit my bodyshape really well. It will be a lot of fun wearing our dirndls and we will take a few nice pictures before the feast so be sure to check out our upcoming uploads next weekend *laughs*

Sometimes it's just so good to be a woman :D

Also, I'm looking forward to Togaino ni Chi which starts end of the week and to Shiki which hopefully finally goes on next thursday after a neverending 3 week hiatus.

And last but not least, I started updating the missing costumes from 2009 and 2010, so the Fullmetal Alchemist 2009 section (with me as Edward and Kay as Roy) is finally uploaded to our homepage www.twilightfire.de take a look if you want to see everything at one place, especially a few pictures we didn't upload to DA ^.-

As for the rest of the week, have fun and thanks for reading my journal! Bye~

Shiki

Hello my favorite fellows! First of all - SORRY! I'm so busy these days (yeah again.. or rather STILL)~ I don't even have time to upload new deviations! And you're still writing nice comments and I rarely have the time to answer, forgive me. But I read all of them! They bring a smile to my face every day!

Like always it comes surprisingly and immediate, but Kay and me have a new 'flash'. Yep. And it's all my fault too. I just recently sat at home and was kinda bored and when I rampaged the internet, searching for new stuff to look at I found an anime blog which wrote about a few series from the current season, also Shiki. Without telling a lot of the story, the author just said something along the lines of "I'm watching it. Just because. The artwork is amazing and it's fascinating" And as the type of person who is always interested in shows that are 'different' from the usual, also the more psychic or horrific genre, I watched the first few episodes that were out that day. And I fell completely in love. The artwork is weird at first, but amazing the moment you get used to it. The soundtrack is creepy but beautiful and I really like the characters. The story is deep and interesting and at the beginning you don't really know what's going on (if you weren't spoiled that means, I wasn't).

What I like most about the series is the realistic touch of everydaylife it gets even though supernatural things seem to be going on. The clothes and detail of the characters are amazing. Especially in the manga, the outfits are so detailed, it's wonderful to look at it.

Also, I immediately found my favorite character of the show haha. It's (oh yeah, guess, lol) Natsuno~ He even has Roxas' japanese voice actor, which I found kinda funny. I really like listening to his voice. Also - Toru-chan. Natsuno's best friend and kinda... his only real good friend, because Natsuno is such a loner XD But they're so cute together. And no I'm not forcing my fangirl views on them, they really are close and in my eyes there's more slash material then with Izaya and Shizuo in Durarara!! XD Because it's rather subtle, and more sensual. Oh yeah, the shonen-ai fangirl in me is talking again. So sorry. I can't help it with these two. Really.

So ... it was expensive and it will get even more expensive I guess, but we're gonna cosplay as them at Connichi. It will be a lot of work, concerning the fact I start working in september and need to get most of it finished by the end of this month, but it'll be worth it. Because we weouldn't be happy if we were not to cosplay as them soon enough xD We love them so much.

I think the hairstyles are interesting and I'm looking forward to styling my wig. Also, I never has purple hair before! And purple eyes! It's gonna be cool *-*
Also... Natsuno's outfit (the one I want to do) is this kind of... "weird and kind of ugly but at the second glance kind of random but cool" - outfit. Yeah. I'll show you a few artworks of it (as in the anime they don't wear those clothes (yet?)). The details differ from picture to picture, but I'll try to stick to one of the pics and make them the way I like it the most. Yeah... here some some pictures (the blond cutie is Toru-chan and Kay will cosplay as him :D He's such a sunshine~)

Chibis :)

Natsuno & Toru 2 www.vreality.de/bilder/0002.jp…

So yeah~ I'm looking forward to make this.. kind of weird and random costume XD
